Community Service
Janine is a strong believer in volunteering and community service: volunteer with a friend - it is twice the fun! Some of her favourite memories are:- Sharing and learning about local history and culture at the Joseph Schneider Haus. Their preservation of local history and how a homestead was run in the early 20th century is amazing.
- Taking care of rescued kittens and cats through Pet Patrol, an organization that rescues, spays/neuters, and vaccinates cats and kittens and then offers them for adoption. To adopt a kitten or cat that is loved, neutered, and has their shots, call Pet Patrol at (519) 669-1979.
- Teaching kids' yoga at The Children's Museum on New Years in 2007 and doing the countdown at 9pm!
- Sharing Art History at the Homer Watson House & Gallery: a hidden gem in a residential community sharing the the art, history, and biography of Homer Watson.
Personal
Janine currently resides in Kitchener, Ontario with her life partner and husband, Cheong and their dog Zafu. She loves to go for walks with Zafu, which in Sanskrit means sweet fruit. Breathing the fresh air outside is rejuvenating! Janine likes making soups, baking, and creating home made meals without a recipe. She also enjoys listening to music: CBC radio 2 and Faith FM 94.3 are her favourites. CBC for the amazing concerts and Faith FM for the inspirational music, words, and timeless wisdom. Janine finds that the practice of yoga teaches her about herself every day.About Cheong
